In My Neighbourhood

VERSE ONE:

I sat on the rooftop and watched as the sunlight faded away,
I was so high but I felt so low,
I had dreams but nothing to show.
I met a girl on the street, she was sad she had no place to stay,
So she begged for her living each day,
Prayed to God but he had nothing to say.

CHORUS:

In my neighborhood,
Of concrete, steel and wood,
Life is so misunderstood,
In my neighborhood.

VERSE TWO:

I watched a man on the beach, he was carving with iron and stone,
He was talking on a cellular phone,
To friends he knew back home.
Two lovers at peace with the world, they were wrapped in a tender embrace.
I couldn’t really see her face,
His hands were all over the place.

BRIDGE:

I can be anyone I wanna be,
Cos no-one knows my name,
Just a stranger in paradise,
And everybody feels the same

OUTRO:

I talked to a girl in a bar,
She worked on the eastside of town,
She was shocked by the things that she saw,
The drugs, the addicts and all.........
