VERSE ONE:
He
lived high on a mountainside and looked down on the people
who looked up
to him and thought he was an honest man.
He always prayed to Jesus, in the
hope that by some miracle,
he’d hear what he was saying and he’d
understand.
He cheated on his lovers, who cheated on the fathers of the
children
they had bought into this fucked up world.
And paid the
politicians to change the laws that outlawed wars
and made a real killing off the common man.
FIRST
CHORUS:
It’s
like stealing from a poor man, then giving to the rich.
You throw a man a
lifeline then you drown him in a ditch.
You sell your soul to Jesus with
the Devil by your side.
You send young kids to battle, then you run away and hide.
Just like George Bush……………………
VERSE
TWO:
He
attended church on Sundays to be seen by all the people
who believed
that’s there’s a Heaven or some fucked up Paradise.
He drove a
Maserati, paid for by a dying man,
who tried to cheat the Devil but still
paid a higher price.
He
talked about forgiveness while cheating honest people
who tried to earn a
living on a poor
man’s wage.
Then preached about how money could buy happiness and all that
shit,
then took a little cocaine, in the bathroom, for another hit.
SECOND
CHORUS:
If
you're stealing from a blind man, when you know he's out of sight.
You
sign a peace agreement, then you go and pick
a fight.
You talk about Kyoto, while you're spewing toxic gas.
Your
shagging some-ones daughter, while attending Sunday Mass.
BRIDGE:
But
no-one really knows him.
Just a face behind a face.
But if you try to wind
him up.
He'll build a bigger, better bomb and shove it in your face.
Just
like George Bush…………….
THIRD
CHORUS:
If
you'd treat an alcoholic with a bottle in your hand.
You work for U.S
Customs but you deal in contraband.
You suffer from a lung disease but smoke ten packs a day.
You talk about
democracy but do things your own way.
